I am a post-doctoral researcher in the Howarth Lab at St. John's University, New York. I have also been an Adjunct Assistant Professor there.
I examine how gene interactions defining novel traits evolve. I address this question with a model system: the CYCLOIDEA-MYB interaction in zygomorphic flowers. I employ gene downregulation, quantitative gene expression, phylogenetic analyses, and bioinformatic methods to understand how such gene interactions have evolved. |
